Tonight we will discuss how we live out these four identity statements, and where we have growing edges in living our shared identity as a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Below is the text of an email from a few weeks ago with the content of these 4 statements.
If you can not make it, feel free to send along your thoughts by email and we will share them with the group.
Grace and Peace

Subject: FGCC statement of beliefs
A part of our DDP conversation last night regarded the fact that in our conversations with our neighbors asking them about their own needs, hopes and desires and how we and other churches might better serve the community, people might ask us about Forest Grove, what we believe and how we live our our faith.
As a first pass at this I have prepared the following “What we believe” statement, which is also attached as a 1/2 page bulletin insert. As you will see, most of it is denominational statements.
I think we would also prepare a similar page that describes our practices as church – i.e. how we study, how we organize, how we practice leadership, ministry, outreach, etc.
The second attachment is a brochure prepared by the denomination that can be printed black and white or full color and distributed.
Grateful for all the faithful leadership in this process.
